ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT
Carol has experience in environmental impact assessment. She gained this experience whilst working at the EPA of South Australia and in the various roles she has undertaken and as environmental planner in Local Government. Her expertise in Environment Impact Assessment has been recognised by the University of South Australia through a six (6) year engagement as a tutor in this discipline.
WASTE MANAGEMENT & WASTE MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES
Carol has extensive knowledge of the waste management industry having been employed at the Environment Protection Authority (EPA) as a Licence Coordinator for waste and recycling facilities. In this role she conducted EPA compliance audits and assessed and approved landfill environmental management plans and closure plans.
In her local government roles she has devised and implemented effective waste management strategies, and provided advice on the effective operation of Council waste and recycling depots.
In the capacity of her various roles in State and Local government Carol has gained broad experience in the development and assessment of environmental management plans. Some examples are waste management plans, landfill environment management plans and closure plans vegetation management plans, soil erosion and dust management plans.
ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING PROGRAMS
Environmental monitoring is critical to minimising or reducing the environmental impacts of developments and land use. An environmental monitoring program is often required by relevant planning and environment laws and regulations. Carol can design and implement a wide array of monitoring programs to assist you to measure and mitigate environmental impacts and to implement contingency plans for unpredicted impacts and consequences.
Carol will design and implement an environmental monitoring program in accordance with relevant legislation and regulatory authorities.
ENVIRONMENTAL PERMITS AND LICENCES
The emphasis and scope of environmental compliance requirements have increased greatly across all levels of governance (corporate, state, Commonwealth and international), with the focus now on environmentally sound and sustainable development. Carol can help clients understand and comply with the relevant environmental laws, regulations and obligations in which they operate.
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS (ISO 14001)
Carol has experience in the development, implementation and review of organisation wide Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14000). She will provide you with comprehensive advice and assistance to develop a tailored EMS compliant with ISO 14001
Her knowledge and experience in environmental management systems was recognised by the University of South Australia who engaged her as a seasonal lecturer to plan and deliver lecture materials and undertake student assessments in the subject Environmental Management Systems.
